Snow School with a Level One Instructor
Starting January 3, 2011 until March 25, 2011

Hours of Operations:  Monday thru Friday – 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m

Hiawatha Highlands offers a Cross-Country Ski and Snowshoe instruction and winter adventure to both the Public and Separate school children. We are equiped for XC - Skiing and Snowshoeing for Grades 4 to 8 and Grade 3 for Snowshoeing only.  Hiawatha Highlands offers these activities to introduce children to outdoor winter recreational activities, and to encourage self-confidence and self-esteem.

For a fee of $16.50 per day, per child (HST included)($14.60 + 13%) children can be instructed in a cross-country skiing program. This fee includes use of the Cross Country Ski or Snowshoe equipment, instructor, transportation and a reserved area in our facility for warming up and having lunch. Our maximum size per group is 35 students and our minimum is 20. Smaller classes can be accommodated at a rate of $21.00 per student per day.  Participants of the ski program will learn movement on skis, the traditional classic technique, as well as gliding and control on hills.  Or, they can join us for a snowshoe explore winter adventure and take in the beauty of towering pines, the Crystal falls, and thick trees that are usually loaded with fluffy white snow.  Regardless of the choice, lots of fun and learning is a guarantee.

Please Note:  We will arrange and pay for transportation at absolutely no extra charge!

*** There is also no charge for teachers wishing to assist with their students ***

Children with special needs are welcome with their teachers/aids to provide the additional support they may require.  We have Para-Nordic Sit Ski as part of our rental fleet.

Classes/Groups wishing to attend the Snow School are asked to contact info@hiawathahighlands.com to book in advance. Bookings are made on a first come first serve basis. The number of students attending must be confirmed prior to the booking to allow for equipment to be made ready.

Supervisors are asked to make sure students are dressed appropriately for outdoor activities (i.e.: ski pants, hats and mitts). We do not recommend that students wear jeans.
